Google takes rating manipulation seriously. If you violate the Business Profile policies, Google will remove the fake or misleading reviews and possibly place restrictions, such as:


  • Preventing new reviews or ratings on your Business Profile for a set period
  • Not publishing existing reviews or ratings on your Business Profile for a set period
  • Displaying a warning about the removal of fake reviews on your Business Profile


You might also face suspension of your business listing or a lower ranking in search results, which could hurt your ability to reach new customers. Business leaders buy reviews to improve their companies’ online reputations, but the best reputation protection involves following these policies.
